Statement from Cardinal Thomas Collins, Archbishop of Toronto on the passing of the former Premier of Ontario, William G. Davis

I join with so many others throughout the province and country who are mourning the passing of the former Premier of Ontario, the Honourable William G. Davis. The former premier dedicated much of his life to the vocation of public service and was known for treating others with dignity and respect.

Among his many accomplishments, we acknowledge his significant leadership as a champion for publicly funded Catholic Education in Ontario. 

We pray for the repose of his soul, and that his loved ones may find peace in knowing that his legacy of kindness and service will live on for years to come through those whom he inspired. May he rest in peace.
