Sadly, the Archdiocese of Toronto has made the difficult decision to cancel the Ontario Election Debate from a Catholic Perspective, which was planned to take place on Wednesday, May 18.

It proved difficult to secure a candidate from one of the major political parties and we did not believe it would be a good use of resources to proceed without a representative from a party that could form government.

Needless to say, we are disappointed by this outcome and we apologize for any inconvenience that this will cause.

However, we still strongly encourage Catholics to become informed about the issues in this election and to vote on June 2. There are still a number of resources on the Archdiocese of Toronto’s election website that will help you discern your vote: www.archtoronto.org/election.

You can find more information about discerning your vote on the Catholic Conscience website: https://catholicconscience.org/.

And for practical information on voting, please visit the Elections Ontario website: www.elections.on.ca.

Thank you for participating in this election.
